The part of the National Trail that passes through Lanaudière traverses the Matawinie from east to west over more than 170 km. Crossing some of the most beautiful natural areas of northern Lanaudière, the Trail leads you through pristine wilderness and some wonderfully varied countryside. Your journey will also take you through some of the regional parks of Matawinie.

Bird-spotters will love Lanaudière’s rich and diversified bird life. The flora, too, is highly varied. Thrill-seekers can try their hand at treetop-trekking or rock climbing on the many natural rock faces! You’ll never be bored in Lanaudière!

The pleasures of winter are also many and varied in Lanaudière, with a multitude of sports and recreational activities to enjoy in the region. Its geographic diversity, varying altitudes and outstanding snow conditions combine to give Lanaudière a long winter season. Fans of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing will find many interesting trails to challenge them.
